<International Program-Solving>

We are a member of the International Youth Center’s international issue resolution team, which aims to have time to interact with foreign students and learn about cultural differences. Recognizing the seriousness of the problems in the international community, we want to make it an activity where students can overcome cultural differences from various perspectives and further develop solutions to problems. Our international issue resolution team will discuss five issues including child welfare, environmental climate, poverty, education, and human rights and come up with solutions.

On November 14, we will have a orientation on the pre-program, and after that, we will be divided into five groups for the next two weeks. Each group will share their thoughts on the topic and discuss how to solve the problem.

On November 28, we will hold a ‘Global Talking Party’ to share our discussions for two weeks, listen to each other’s different opinions on each issue, and plan and present the campaign activities to be implemented by each team. I hope you enjoy your activities with us!

<Global History Exploration>

1. Outline of the event

Psy’s Gangnam Style has promoted Korea and K-POP around the world, while BTS and Black Pink are continuing the Korean Wave by going up and down the Billboard charts. Thanks to this, the number of foreigners visiting Korea to study abroad has also increased significantly. However, most international students do not have many opportunities to see the driving force behind the current Korean Wave, namely our history. There are many historical sites everywhere in our country. However, students studying abroad are having difficulty visiting historic sites due to various restrictions such as lack of information. To solve these problems, the International Youth Center has prepared a ‘history tour program’. The International Youth Center wants to visit Korea’s beautiful cultural heritage with international students to learn about the history and experience the unique lifestyle of the Korean people.

The purpose of this project is to impress international students by showing the past and present of the Republic of Korea, and to help them return home and spread the beauty of Korean culture. In order to show the most Korean-like Korea, our global history team is planning to join international students at the opening of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Gyeongbokgung Palace at night in November.

Students studying abroad will act as a bridge with our country after they return home. Therefore, helping them understand Korea better is important for building our international capabilities. I will try to show ‘the most Korea-like’ to international students who will lead future exchanges.
